With an expansive program offering 6 different dance disciplines, our Junior Division is curriculum based dancing lessons rooted in the development of technique and artistry for a young dancer. Delving deeper into their training, students will not only expand their dance vocabulary, but develop a stronger understanding of structural and muscular placement, awareness, and execution. JUNIOR DIVISION

Ballet Practice
  • Building upon the ballet vocabulary, students begin to work at the barre, with class exercises and technique focused on correct structural alignment, posture and safe technique. Students are taught and expected to demonstrate appropriate ballet class etiquette, while advancing through the ballet technique.

    *Dress Code:CPD logo leotard: pink tights & pink shoes. Hair must be worn in a ballet bun. No jewelry.

    Ballet I – CPD Light Blue Leotard

    Ballet II & II+ – CPD Dark Purple Leotard

    Ballet III & III+ – CPD Celestin Blue Leotard

  • In the early levels of this program, students learn the fundamentals of classic jazz including body isolations, turns, and locomotor patterns. Attention is given to accent and style, while maintaining proper alignment.

    Dress code: CPD black leotard, black or caramel slip-on jazz shoes and black shorts or leggings.

  • A supplemental class for both ballet or jazz students, students develop improvisational skills and the exploratory use of breath, musicality, and expression.
